5/3/1 – day 2, week umpteen, the battle rages on.
Deadlift day today, which gave me a mild feeling of trepidation as my lower back has been feeling a touch on the niggley side, but fortune favours the brave and so we charge once more into the breach.
Here is today’s session:
Foam roller action on my back and glutes.
3 x 1 min skipping with some glute activation in between.
Deadlifts – 3 warm up sets @ 65/85/105kg and then 5 x 125kg 5 x 135kg 15 x 145kg, this last set was captured on film for your perusal below.
Bent over row – 4 sets 15 reps @ 60kg with 1 min rest.
Pull-ups – 4 sets 10 reps @ ever decreasing weights on the chin/dip assist with 1 min rest.
Romanians – 4 sets 20 reps @ 60kg with 1 min rest.
Ab wheel roll-outs on the infernal torture device – 4 x 12 reps
It was a really good workout and afterwards I had to lie down behind reception and hug one of the chairs for about 5 mins, which is a good thing, I think.
In theory I was supposed to do some sprints afterwards but as I couldn’t stand up I thought it wise to delay said sprints until I’m able to remain vertical without swaying violently.
